This fund closed on 05/27/2020. EMCG is an active take on the emerging-market consumer theme. The fund builds its portfolio using a quantitative model to identify firms that exhibit strong fundamental growth, quality, and valuation characteristics. In particular, the funds manager looks for companies that will benefit from long-term growth in emerging-market economies. This approach has allowed EMCG to differentiate itself from competitors by reaching well beyond the traditional consumer sectors - which means it doesnt fit our consumer cyclical benchmark very well. Still, the ability to reach across sectors may be attractive to investors looking to benefit from the growth of consumer class in emerging markets. In that case, EMCG fulfills its mandate nicely. Prior to October 19, 2018, the fund tracked a WisdomTree index with a similar methodology.
