It’s sometimes described as the backbone of the industry, facilitating swaps between the dollar-tied stablecoin and highly volatile cryptocurrencies. Its main competitor takes the form of Circle’s USDC, which has recently been catching up on USDT by market cap. For now however, USDT is still the dominant force in the stablecoin space.
